Home EV charging

Glendale project guide

Plan your home EV charger in Glendale.

A Glendale charging project can involve an installation rebate, a separate off-peak reward and different application deadlines. Work out which rules fit your home before choosing equipment.

Confirm the account and the right rebate tier.

Check that your electric bill is from Glendale Water & Power. A Glendale mailing address alone does not confirm the account or program.

The tiers are alternatives. Used-vehicle incentives on the same utility page are a separate purchase program. Verify eligibility and funding with GWP’s current EV program information before including any rebate in your budget.

Which date starts the six-month clock?

Keep paid itemized receipts, installation photos and required final permits. GWP also requests vehicle documents and a W-9. Its residential application limits support to two chargers per account and requires applicable property-owner or HOA approval. Eligible panel work must address the EV charging load; adding a circuit alone is insufficient. Review GWP’s application and complete terms (PDF).

Put the applicable deadline in your project notes when you buy equipment or schedule work. Keep rebate paperwork in your own records; our initial planning form does not need account numbers, tax forms or vehicle documents.

The off-peak reward has its own enrollment.

The separate GWP program offers $20 per eligible EV per month, for up to three enrolled EVs. Rewards accumulate monthly but are paid once per calendar year. This is not an automatic monthly bill credit.

Participants need an active GWP residential account and qualifying Level 2 charging. The window runs from 9 p.m. to noon the next day on weekdays, plus weekends. At least six qualifying hours per month are required at the program’s minimum draw; up to three outside-window charging events are allowed.

Solar, shared or public charging can require a supported vehicle data connection. Check the verification method and full conditions with GWP’s off-peak program operator before counting on a payment.

Bring these questions to the site assessment.

A rebate amount cannot establish whether your home needs a larger panel. Ask a licensed electrician to assess the proposed setup and explain the options. A useful conversation starts with:

GWP links different city permit guidance for single-family homes, duplexes and ADUs versus apartment, condo and commercial buildings. Choose the route matching the actual project on the official EV page; do not assume a shared parking project follows a single-home checklist.

Before comparing electrician quotes.

Ask each electrician to quote the same scope, including equipment supply, any proposed panel work, permits, surface restoration and exclusions. Request the full price before incentives, with assumed rebates shown separately. We do not have a verified Glendale price average or a guaranteed installation timeline.

Can I plan a project before choosing a charger?

Yes. Record your parking arrangement and charging routine first, and leave the equipment choice open for the assessment. Our home charging guide organizes the starting questions.

Does leaving a request book an electrician?

No. Requests currently go to the All In One Handy owner. We will ask before sharing your details when contractor matching becomes available.
